Interview Questions
LMF: Why don't we start off with you introducing yourself?
MM: Hi everyone, this is Mike Mercetti from Frequency5!
LMF: How did you guys get together?
MM: Johnny and Jhoven were friends singing together and met Jason, David, and myself through emails and music message boards online.
LMF: How did you guys come up with the name Frequency5?
MM: We got the name Frequency5 from our engineer Shawn while recording in the studio. We were mixing down a song and equalizing all the frequencys and he said "you guys should be called Frequency5" and it stuck!
LMF: How would you describe your music?
MM: I would say our music is POP with the feel and soul of R&B.
LMF: Do you guys write your own music?
MM: Yes, we do write our own music as well as collaborate with a few talented artists and producers.
LMF: If you could do a duet with any artist out there right now, who would it be and why?
MM: Oh that is a tough one because there are so many gifted artists I would love to sing with. Although, if I (Mike) had to choose just one I would have to say it would be my honor to share the stage and sing a duet with Madonna. She is still hot!!
LMF: Describe a day for you, from waking up to going to bed.
MM: My day starts with me waking up (hopefully), then going to the bathroom (a must), then walking the my dog (Riff), then have my usually coffee from 7-11 (Hollywood hasn't gotten to my head, I don't care its still the best coffee out here only because there is no Dunkin Donuts here, it's an East Coast thing) then I work out for about 2-3 hours running and lifting (I like to call it my therapy), then walk the dog again (he pees a lot), then meet up with the guys and rehearse for about 4-5 hours (singing,dancing,planing....just hanging out), then go home have some chicken (no carbs, well ... other then pizza my demon spawn addiction), walk the dog AGAIN......then watch some cartoon network, sports center, and can't miss The Simpsons (possible the best show ever created) and thats that.
LMF: What is the one thing you can eat 24/7?
MM: Ha Ha....already answered that, most definitely would have to be pizza.
LMF: Where do you see yourself in five years?
MM: Here in LA (kidding) um.... In five years I will have accomplished a lot, for starters I will have already had a #1 hit (God willing a few), have a #1 album, touring world wide......and yet still being as goofy and as full of life as I am right now only with a little more money!
LMF: If you could open up for any artist out there right now, who would it be?
MM: God there's a bunch, umm... Touring with Justin Timberlake, Britney, Christina those are the obvious....but I would like to tour with Missy Elliott, P Diddy, Black Eye Peas, 50 Cent, J Z, even Jack Black (although they have a total different audience, the behind the scenes I can only imagine would be off the hook, and Jack would just make me laugh all night)
LMF: What C.D. would we find in your C.D. player right now?
MM: Believe it or not I have in my tray right now Billy Joel, Frank Sinatra, U-2, Limp Bizcuit, Jay Z, 50 Cent, J- Lo, MatchBox 20, and a few others but that's basically what I listen to.....(thats a mix huh?)
LMF: If you weren't singing, is there something else you could see yourself doing for a career?
MM: Yhea, playing centerfield for the Boston Red Sox.
LMF: Last one, What message would you like to send out to your fans?
MM: The obvious thank yous and love of course....but most of all live your life and don't take attitude from anyone!
