Interview Questions
LMF: Why don't we start off with you introducing yourself?
MV:What's up...my name is Mandy Ventrice, I'm 18, from Cali, and I'm a singer/songwriter.
LMF: When did you know you wanted to be a singer?
MV: I knew since I was able to talk. I was always singing, I never wanted to do anything else. But once I heard Mariah Carey sing in 1990...I was dead set on that being my career.
LMF: Describe your music to someone who has never heard it before.
MV: To be simply put, it's pop/rock. Or as I like to call it, Rhythmic Rock...my vocals have a lot of R&B influence, and the music has a lot of pop and rock elements in it.
LMF: Who are some of your inspirations when it comes to music?
MV: My dad, Mariah Carey, Mary J Blige, Alanis Morrisette, Fiona Apple, etc. I get really inspired by amazing lyrics and unique voices.
LMF: Do you write your own music?
MV: I write all my own lyrics and melodies and do my own vocal arrangements. My partner, Aaron Accetta does all the music.
LMF: If you could perform with anyone out there, who would it be?
MV: I'm in love with a lot of performers...but the one person I'm dying to work with someday is Missy Elliot. She is just a genius in every aspect.
LMF: Do you have any embarrassing moments on stage you would like to share?
MV: I hate talking onstage. I always say stupid stuff.
LMF: Do you have a favorite city that you've performed in?
MV: NYC so far.
LMF: What do you like better, recording in the studio or performing live?
MV: I like them both but for different reasons. I love recording because I get to be laid back and creative. Performing is a lot more stressful for me, but I like being in that environment when I'm under some pressure.
LMF: What is your favorite song that you recorded and why?
MV: Falling Anyway, because it's the most personal song I've written so far.
LMF: If you could date one celebrity out there who would it be?
MV: Orlando Bloom is pretty lovely.
LMF: What is the greatest memory in your career so far?
MV: I just got my first two cuts on an album coming out this summer...and that's really cool, especially at my age. And hearing songs that you've written and another artist is singing, is awesome.
LMF: What is the one food you could eat 24/7?
MV: Pizza
LMF: What CD would we find in your CD player right now?
MV: If you went in my car, you'd find Jane's Addiction in my CD player.
LMF: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
MV: Who knows...things change so drastically for me, even within weeks. I love not knowing. I can only pray for the best.
LMF: If you had a fortune cookie, what would your ideal fortune cookie say?
MV: You will acheive great success. That's what they all say, isn't it?
LMF:What message do you want to give to all your fans out there?
MV: Thanks for the support!
