Why don't we start off with you introducing yourself.
My name is JoJo. My single is currently #1 on Radio Charts and I'm very excited about that. My new single is coming out with Bow wow called "Baby It's You" and I'm just a girl who loves music, I'm from south of Boston and I just do what I do.
When did you know you wanted to be a singer?
I been singing since I was two. Ever since I could put thoughts together I knew this is what I wanted to do. I don't want lawyer, I don't want to be a doctor. I want to sing and I want people to like it. I always thinking of making music always.
Describe your music to someone who has never heard it before.
People call Pop some call it R&B, some say Pop/Rock. Whatever you want to call it, it's just music. I mean I would called it definitely R&B influenced. On this album there's songs you can dance to, songs you can cry to. And we made this album for ALL people. Not just preteen girls, but for every one of ALL ages, ALL races.
What was the process of recording your album like?
It was so much fun! We did it just last summer and we recorded it in New York, L.A. and Miami with some great heavy hitters, like some really talented producers and songwriters. I got to write three songs on the album, so that was very important. I had a lot of creative control. I wanted the album to reflected realness. I wanted to understand want I was singing about. I didn't want to sing something that I didn't have reference too.
Do you have a favorite song off of it? If so which one and why?
There ALL my babies. I mean I like the Happy song for different reasons I like Never say goodbye or Leave get out or Keep On Keepin' On. I like them ALL.
Tell me about the first time you heard your song on the radio.
Wow! That was like straight out of a movie, I swear. I was in the car with my friends from Boston. I hadn't seen them in a while and My song came on the radio and it was the first time and we all started screaming and jumping and laughing. I will never forget that. It was so moving.
You recently shot your music video for Baby It's You, can you tell us about the concert of it?
We shot it at Six Flags Magic Mountain. We shot it in the dark so you get those beautiful lights, which really pop off the camera. It's kind of a performent piece. so i'm just performing to the camera. Bow Wow looks great, he did his thing with the rap. It very fun, very young and colorful but with a bit of an edge to it.
Who are your biggest musical influences?
Growing up I listened to a lot of old soul. Like Aretha Franklin, Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James. And now I look up to Usher, and Celine Dion, Alicia Keys. But I think Usher is a great musical influence and I do look up to him like that.
You where on tour with him. For his Europe tour, how was that?
It was great! He's so amazing. Such a nice person. A very talented dancer, singer, writer all that.
Do you have any pre-show rituals that you do before a performance?
I really don't. I just talk to my dancers and laugh and get hyped up. Sometimes I listen to J-Kown's Hood Hop. It's a great album. It really gets you pumped up.
For a fan that is going to see you in concert, what can they expect from your show.
You can expected live vocals. I always sing live. I take you back to SWV's Weak which I did the remake on the album. Of course I do my single Leave get out, Baby It's You. It's a lot of fun. I have great dancers and it's a lot. It's a fun show.

If you could share the stage with anyone, who would it be?
There's a lot of talented people out there. I'm not sure.
Do you have any embarrassing moments on stage you would like to share?
Yes, Hold on let me think of one. Ok It was at the shooting of my music video for Baby It's You. They put water on the stage so it could look slick, cause I guess it looks good on camera. So I was dancing and I slipped and fall on my butt in front of everybody. All crew, all extras everybody. I was really embarrassed.
What do you like better, recording in the studio or performing live?
I love both. I mean as much as I love performing live, being in the studio gives me a special feeling. You can just let everything out. I'm really looking forward to recording the next album.
What has been the most memorable moment in your career this far?
Doing TRL. I just couldn't believe that those people jumped up and screamed JoJo! It was so amazed and so happy and when my video reached number one I was taken back completely.
