LMF: Why don't we start off with you introducing yourself?
JM: My name is Jennifer Marie Ayala a.k.a J. Marie
LMF: When did you know you wanted to be a singer?
JM: I have known since I was at least 4, I even have video tapes of me performing since I was 3. It has been a passion of mine all of my life.
LMF: Describe your music to someone who has never heard it before.
JM: My music is a mixture of hip hop, r&b, and some carribean flavor as well. I love the cultural sounds of world beat, reggae and the edginess of hip hop.
LMF: Who are some of your inspirations when it comes to music?
JM: My true inspirations are Mary J. Blige, Faith Evans,and Tamia.
LMF: Do you write your own music?
JM: I co write my material. I love the collaborative process in dealing with various writers and producers. I think it gives an album a round and whole sound.
LMF: What is your favorite song that you recorded and why?
JM: I really can't say that I have a favorite track at this time. I am in the earliest process of cutting the album and we are sifting through so many tracks. I am more interested in what my fans' favorite will be though! I'll let you know when we are done!
LMF: Not only are you a singer your an Actress as well, I heard your Auditioning for a movie, How did it go?
JM: Actually I am doing a short film entitled MISSING which is a dark drama where I play Vanessa, a powerful young realtor who loses the love of her life. LMF: You were in the movie Legends, How was it to film a scary movie?
JM: It's really not scary filming just because you're so caught up in making sure you've got your lines right or you're making it believeable to the director that it doesn't seem scary until its complete and we're watching it on the big screen. LMF: What is the greatest memory in your career so far?
JM: Signing on to my wonderful management team! They have been with me from the beginning and are dedicated to making sure I am doing quality projects.
LMF: What is the one food you could eat 24/7?
JM: Oooh I'd have to say chocolate! Us Women need it!
LMF: What music would we see in your mp3 player right now?
JM: Sean Paul, Damian Marley, Mary J. Blige, Jamie Foxx, Alicia Keys, and lots of dancehall!!!!
LMF: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
JM: If I haven't made it? On Carnival Cruise line singing the love boat song. If I have succeeded? Being up there with my aspirations, hopefully making a difference. I want to continue to make films and music for a long time to come.
LMF: If you had a fortune cookie, what would your ideal fortune cookie say?
JM: Sometimes being a bitch is all a woman has to hold to.
