Interview Questions
LMF: Why don't we start off with you introducing yourself?
JB: My name is Jared Burnett and I am a 22 year old violinist in Orlando.
LMF: When did you know that the violin was for you?
JB: Probably around the age of 7... that's when I really started to enjoy playing and decided to stick with it further.
LMF: How old where you when you learned the violin?
JB: I first started playing when I was 3.
LMF: How would you describe your music?
JB: A mix of classical training infused with modern sounds and bluegrass.
LMF: Describe your first on stage performance.
JB: Well, from what I can remember of it, I was about 4 years old and it was a recital performance that I did for my private instructor and I probably sounded horrendous. But I still thought that it sounded wonderful.
LMF: Describe a day for you, from waking up to going to bed.
JB: My day usually starts with feeding my dog and then walking him, checking my emails, then I start getting ready to run some errands. Then I usually grab a quick lunch and practice some. Somewhere around 3 pm I get ready for work at City Walk and then in between the 5 shows a night I take a nap, then after the shows I prepare for whatever plans I have that evening. I usually end up in bed around 1 or 2am.
LMF: How is the Universal Citywalk shows going?
JB: The shows are absolutely great! There are always a ton of people at each show and we have so much fun playing each night.
LMF: Do you have a favorite city that you've performed in?
JB: I would have to say when I performed in the middle of Harvard Square in Boston was so amazing.
LMF: If you could describe your favorite memory in your career so far, what would it be?
JB: I think that when I was on stage at the Red Hot and Boom concert here in Orlando and looked out at over 150,000 people in the crowd and the first person that I made eye contact with was my mom. I didn't know where she would be in the audience and to find her immediately was amazing!
LMF: What is the one thing you can eat 24/7?
JB: Chicken Caesar Salads!!
LMF: Where do you see yourself five years from now?
JB: That is such a difficult question because if you had asked me that 5 years ago, I would never have expected then that I would be where I am now. So, I would say probably living in New York or LA doing my music on a much larger scale.
LMF: If you could open up for any artist out there right now, who would it be?
JB: Definitely the Dave Matthews Band.
LMF: What C.D. would we find in your C.D. player right now?
JB: Robbie Williams' "The Ego has Landed"
LMF: If you weren't playing the violin, is there something else you could see yourself playing?
JB: I can play a little guitar and the piano.
LMF: If you had a fortune cookie, what would your ideal fortune cookie say?
JB: The sounds of your life will emerge larger than you can imagine.
LMF: Last one, What message would you like to send out to your fans?
JB: Just thank you for the support and to anticipate many different things from me soon to come!!
