LMF: Why don't we start off with you introducing yourself.
IM: Hi my name is Ian Maxion. I am an up and coming pop, funk, R&B artist that's on the way up right now. I'm signed to ERA Productions and currently working on gaining fanbase, doing shows, and hopefully will be signed soon.
LMF: When did you know you wanted to become a singer?
IM: I've been singing ever since I was little. It kinda just came naturally I didn't really ever decide on becoming a singer it was just something I want to do.
LMF: Describe your music to someone who has never heard it before.
IM: My music is really eclectic It's a lil bit of funk, a lil bit of R&B and lil bit Pop!
LMF: Who are your biggest musical influences?
IM: My 2 BIGGEST influences are Mariah Carey and Michael Jackson. AMAZING artists!!!
LMF: If you could sing with any artist out there right now, who would it be and why?
IM: There are 2 artist that I would love to work with. JC Chasez is one of them and RJ Helton is the other one. There voices are AMAZING and I love their music.
LMF: If you could plan your own tour, which artists would you take out on the road with you?
IM: If I could plan my own tour everyone would be on tour with me! But if I had to choose other artist I would probably ask JC Chasez, RJ Helton, and Ryan
Tedder! They are artist that I admire a lot! And they look like fun people.
LMF: There are a lot of male artists out right now, what sets you apart from the rest?
IM: I am a fun person to be around all the time and that shows when I'm on stage. I bring myself, my personality to my shows, and that's really what gets people totally into my performances. I love to have a good time, laugh, and make others laugh. I'm just a big DORK, lol...
LMF: What was your first on stage experience like?
IM: I was soo nervous the firt time I went on stage as a solo artist. I couldn't control my nerves. But as soon as I got on stage I embraced the feeling and did my thing!
LMF: Do you ever get nervous or stage fright?
IM: Oh yes, I totally get nervous! ALL THE TIME! It's natural. I don't really get stage fright, but I do get scared I'm gonna fall on my face.
LMF: Do you have any pre-show rituals that you do before a performance?
IM: Yes, my dancers and I get in a circle hold hands and pray. That is something we always have to do! Then after we pray I say a few words then we put are hands in, count to three and scream "Make It Happen!"
LMF: For a fan that is going to see you in concert, what can they expect from your show.
IM: A lot of ENERGY, dancing, live singing, and sometimes I fall flat on my face. Just kidding... But my live show is filled with a lot of Energy I always try to get the crowd to participate as much as I can! I do a lot dancing too, some of the moves are a little risky but I like it!
LMF: Do you have a favorite city that you've performed in?
IM: SAN DIEGO! I opened up recently for RJ Helton and that was an amazing show. The response was phenomenal from the crowd and I had people lining up for my meet n greet, which lasted close to an hour. I signed over 300 autographs. :)
LMF: Do you have any embarrassing moments on stage you would like to share?
IM: Hahah! Yes! Ok so I come out thinking everything is good to go. And as soon as I am out on stage someone in the front row screams "your zipper!" My fly was down! I was soo embaraced! But I didn't let it stop me. I turned around zipped it up and kept on going! It was soo funny though!
LMF: What is the best part about being a performer?
IM: The best part of being a performer for me, is the feeling I get on stage. The crowd always gets me hyped and it's what really keeps me going.
LMF: What do you like better, recording in the studio or performing live?
IM: Performing LIVE! I love it, if my manager said "IAN, your gonna be on tour ever other day of your life!" I would be sooo excited!
LMF: What has been the most memorable moment in your career this far?
IM: The most memorabe moment so far is probably the autograph signings and picture taking. I'm not really the type of guy who goes around like "Yah I'm cool!" so when people ask to take pictures with me or want my autograph I'm always thinking to myself "why for?" I just want to say "My name is Ian, I am a really big dork! You sure you want my autograph?" It's very flattering though and something I don't mind doing at all!
LMF: What CD would we find in your CD player right now?
IM: Janet Jackson's Damita Jo CD.
LMF: What is the one food you could eat 24/7?
IM: SUSHI! I am a really BIG fan of sushi!
LMF: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
IM: I don't really like to think so far ahead. I really just take every moment as it comes. But hopefully in 5 years I have my album out, and maybe on tour!?
LMF: Do you have any advice for someone starting out in the music business?
IM: Never give up! If this is something you want DON'T GIVE UP! It's gonna be hard, but everything that is worth anything isn't gonna be handed to you on a silver platter.
LMF: If you had a fortune cookie, what would your ideal fortune cookie say?
IM: "Your going to marry Jessica Alba!"
LMF: If you weren't singing, is there something else you could see yourself doing for a career?
IM: Yeah. If you've ever seen the movie "What Women Want" Mel Gibsons Job is totally want I want to do. I think it was advertising or marketing or something.
LMF: Is there anything you would like to say to the fans?
IM: I love you and I thank you so much for giving someone new a chance!
