LMF: ok Lets get started with your name and how old you are?
GS: I'm Gregory Scott and I'm 22 years old.
LMF: What made you become an singer?
GS: I had always been doing musical theater when I was younger, but my focused switched to songwriting when I was about 17. I had a hard time imagining other people recording my songs, so it was up to me to sing them!
LMF: when was your first performance?
GS: My first performance was in the play Aesop's Fables when I was 8 years old, but my first big performance of own songs was in May of 1999.
LMF: How would you describe your music?
GS: It's definitely pop, but it blends R&B, electronica, rock, and even a little latin flavor, but definitely with my own songwriting twist.
LMF: If you could do a duet with any artist out there right now, who would it be and why?
GS: I really want to work with Steven Curtis Chapman in some way or another. I'd like to sit down and write a song with him and see how he gets inspired. Other than that, someone that would surprise a lot of people- like Linkin Park or 50 Cent or even Kelly Clarkson.
LMF: Describe a day for you, from waking up to going to bed.
GS: Everyday is very different. I usually have a few calls to make- to the label, to radio, and to press. Somedays I'll have rehearsals, voice lessons, or recording sessions. Other times I'm running all over the place in meetings. At night, a lot of the time I'll go to music related events and shows. When I have a little free time, I'll definitely try and spend it with friends and family.
LMF: Where do you see yourself in five years from now?
GS: In five years, hopefully I'll have a couple more albums out, a name people know and respect, and I'll have started to do some more acting and writing songs for other artists.
LMF: If you could open up for any artist out there right now, who would it be?
GS: I think the biggest pop tour out there right now is Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera. That would be great exposure and a lot of fun.
LMF: What CDS would we find in your CD player right now?
GS: Madonna, Mariah Carey, Kelly Clarkson, and Don Henley's greatest hits.
LMF: If you weren't singing, is there something else you could see yourself doing for a career?
GS: It's funny, I get asked this question a lot and I think if I could see myself doing something else, I would probably do it. Music is really what I need to be doing, though.
