Interview
LMF: OK, Why don't we start off with you introducing yourself?
DR: Hey everyone, my names David Ryan and I'm a new pop singer. I'm just having fun with my music right now and enjoying everything that's going on.
LMF: When did you know you wanted to be a singer?
DR: When I was really little I would always be running around singing and acting things out from like Disney Movies. I always knew I wanted to be up on stage, TV, movies etc. When I was about 11 that's when I really started focusing in on music.
LMF: How would you describe your music?
DR: Well I don't actually have any songs at the moment but the sound I'm going for is definitely a fun pop vibe with some "Usher" R&B.
LMF: Do you write your own music?
DR: You know, I've always written music. When I was younger my cousins and I would do it all the time. As I got older I seem to be writing less I guess. It's just one of those things that you either have it or you don't. I'm not saying I don't have it. I just need to grow up a little more before I can really sit down and write a hit. I think writing music comes with experience.
LMF: If you could sing a duet with someone, who would it be and why?
DR: I've gotten this question before in another interviews but I think I've changed my mind. I would really like to do a duet with either Alicia Keys or maybe a remix with Outkast.
LMF: What's a typical day like for you?
DR: Normally during the week I go to school and just hang out like a typical teenager. On the weekends I have voice training. Sometimes I'll be in the studio doing a demo. Maybe an audition here or there but I try to keep life normal during the school year. This summer is when things might change for me.
LMF: Describe your first onstage performance.
DR: Well, I was 8 years old and I had been working with the Walnut St. Theater in Philly. I remember that their stage was being reconstructed so we had to perform at the Arden Theater. It was so much fun for me. I was so young and so confident! I did great. if you don't mind me saying so. I sang, danced, and acted. I loved it!
LMF: What is the one thing you can eat 24/7?
DR: I could eat pretzels like crazy.
LMF: Where do you see yourself five years from now?
DR: In five years I'll be 19! um... I see myself in college whether I've got a record deal or not. That's just something that I really have to experience. so yeah that's it. Also hopefully, I'll win a Grammy for best new artist.
LMF: If you where to open up for any artist out there right now, who would it be?
DR: I'd have to say Hilary Duff because I think she is so fine! She's also really cool and I like the way she's gone about her music.
LMF: What CDs would we find in your CDs player right now?
DR: Well Hilary Duff, Justin Timberlake, Usher and Stacie Orrico!
LMF: If you weren't singing, is there something else you could see yourself doing for a career?
DR: Well I've never really thought about that. I really like editing movies and being behind the scenes! Maybe some directing.
LMF: If you had fortune cookie, what would your ideal fortune cookie say?
DR: You'll be happy and healthy as you continue to live your dream.
