Interview Questions

LMF: Why don't we start off with you introducing yourself?
CC: Chris Cole. and yes, it is my birth name, everyone always assumes its a stage name for some reason...
LMF: When did you know you wanted to be a singer?
CC: I can't even a remember a time ever wanting to be something else.
LMF: Describe your music to someone who has never heard it before.
CC: Lyrically, simple concepts about life's everyday complexities... Vocally, lots of different textures and colors... Stylistically, a fusion of pop/rock/soul but i'm definintely heavily influenced by r&b/soul.
LMF: Do you write your own music?
CC: Of course... to me, I want a musician to be heard and it just goes hand in hand.
LMF: Who would you say is your biggest musical influence?
CC: Man oh man, what genre? I mean, vocally.. you have your untouchables... Stevie, Mariah, Brian Mcknight... as a singer, i tend to gravitate towards artists who seem limitless.. only cause its something i aspire to be... limitless
LMF: If you could do a duet with anyone who would it be?
CC: Female: Mariah hands down. Her tonality is amazing. Male: Brian Mcknight... again, he's just limitless.
LMF: There are a lot of artists out there right now, what sets you apart from the rest?
CC: I think its just my sound in general... musical preference is subjective and it really just depends on if you as the listener are open to the little details that separate current artists... For me, texture and tonality are important, I've worked really hard to get my sound to where it is and I would hope people would be able to recognize that.
LMF: What was your first on stage experience like?
CC: Embarrassing... It was the third grade and forgot lyrics to some song that i didn't even want to sing in the first place! My teacher made me do it! I, on the other hand.. wanted to sing.. *And i'm proud to be an american! where at least i know i'm free..... god bless the usa!!* haha
LMF: Do you ever get nervous or stage fright?
CC: It's nervous energy like right before you get on a rollercoaster.. but as soon as it gets goin'.. you're just there to enjoy the ride!
LMF: Do you have any pre-show rituals that you do before a performance?
CC: Drink lots of tea and warm water... and pray for the ability to do the best with what i've got at the moment!
LMF: For a fan that is going to see you perform live, what can they expect from your show.
CC: Something stripped down to the basics.. Real instrumentation, real singing and me just being a complete goofball on stage. At this point in my career, I'm really not about being flashy... I kinda just wanna make you feel things and have a few laughs..
LMF: Do you have a favorite place that you've performed in?
CC: I really enjoy small, intimate places where I can see who's there and interact with people... don't get me wrong though... the huge venues are OFF THE HOOK.. but there really is something about slippin' in and doing a set in front of 100 people and then slippin out.. its mysterious or something.. haha
LMF: Do you have any embarrassing moments on the stage you would like to share?
CC: I think I already have..... haha
LMF: What has been the most memorable moment in your career this far?
CC: That would have to be The Fighting Temptations.
LMF: If you had to pick one food you could eat 24/7 what would it be and why?
CC: My Mom's!! Nothing like a home cooked meal!
LMF: What music would we find in your mp3 player right now?
CC: Coldplay... i'm really in this mid/slow acoustic stage right now that I can't pull myself out of... but of course I'd have the clubbangers on there too... haha
LMF: Where do you see yourself in 5 years from now?
CC: Hopefully just working my a** off for what i love.
LMF: If you had a fortune cookie, what would your ideal fortune cookie say?
CC: I think i already have one in my wallet.. let me pull it out... It says : If you can shape it in your mind, you can find it in your life. I love that
LMF: Last one, What message do you want to give to all your fans out there?
CC: Thank you SO much for the support and for just listening! God Bless!
