Interview Questions
LMF: Why don't we start off with you introducing yourself?
My name is Brandi Nicole Merich. I am an aspiring actress, model and singer.
LMF: What is your nationality?
Half Italian half Serbian.
LMF: So you sing, act and model? Do you have a favorite?
Singing is definitely my passion. I want to inspire people with my lyrics. I have strong morals and want teenagers to look up to me. I enjoy acting and modeling. I’ve had the most experience in acting and had an acting coach take me under his wing. I definitely love being in front of the camera and performing on stage. I knew I wanted to have people look up to me since I was 2 because I always wanted to be the center of attention.
LMF: When did you know you wanted to be a singer?
When I was a teenager. Mariah Carey’s “Emotions” was on in the car and I started to hit the high notes (believe it or not!). My friends could not believe I hit the notes and they were shocked. Since then I have sang every day and realized how much I truly love it!
LMF: Who are some of your inspirations when it comes to music?
Rachel Lampa. She has a great voice and you can tell how much passion she has. Jessica Simpson is a great role model, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston. I love strong vocalists.
LMF: If you could do a duet with anyone who would it be?
Rachel Lampa. On the male side Brian McKnight. His voice is so smooth and melodic.
LMF: What is the greatest memory in your career so far?
I have a lot! Definitely being on stage with a group I had in Orlando called Unite. I saw how the crowd responded. We worked hard at the last minute to learn the dances one hour before going on stage and we pulled it off! Also traveling with Otown on the MTV Fan Diary. We were on the tour bus and all the fans rushed us asking, “Are you their girlfriends?” We hung with them even off camera and got to see what its like to go through what they did before going on stage. Their level of effort to get all the choreography down was impressive. It takes SO long to make one episode of a reality show! 3 months!
LMF: What is it like being a bicoastal talent?
Its fun because I love to travel and I am very spontaneous and open to anything that comes my way. I get more work this way and going to L.A. keeps me competitive because it is such a tough market. Orlando provides different opportunity. The types of roles are very different. Less ego.
LMF: What is your favorite color?
Pink
LMF: Since you began your career with Hidden Image, what have you learned that maybe you could pass on to an aspiring actress/singer?
Seriously, take direction from people who are looking out for you. Become a professional don’t settle. Have a TON of patience. This industry moves at its own pace. Be fluid and be prepared!
LMF: Do you date?
Not right now. I am very focused on my career. I am waiting to meet the right person at the right time.
LMF: So how were you discovered by Hidden Image Entertainment?
It was funny. My singing coach held a performance for a middle school and I was supposed to go to L.A. for an audition. I could not go and ended up at this show to support some friends who were performing. I went to tell my friend good luck backstage and Niel J. Guilarte approached me. He recognized me from Unite, and asked me if I sang. I said yes and he wanted to hear me. I was 18 then.
LMF: What are your plans as far as acting, modeling and the music?
I want to be a successful music artist with a single out very soon! I will pursue acting and modeling in the meantime. Bounce back and forth to L.A. for auditions and just have a good time!
LMF: What is the one food you could eat 24/7?
Oh Lord! PIZZA!
LMF: What music would we see in your mp3 player right now?
“Blessed” by Rachel Lampa. “What goes around comes around” by Justin Timberlake as well.
LMF: What is your favorite word?
Love. It’s important to love all people. It is what keeps me going. Without it we are empty.
That perseverance, dedication and hard work will pay off!
LMF: What are your plans for 2007?
Currently I am featured on Steven Spielberg’s website for On The Lot his new tv show. The film is MISLED directed y Niel J. Guilarte and I play Vanessa a babysitter who accidentally allows an abducter to take the child she is looking after. It is really great. I am also working on my album I am starting to write and lay down tracks so I am excited!
LMF: What message do you want to give your fans?
Thank you for supporting me and look out for me and my new ventures this year! Dreams can come true!
